Once the centre of intrigue and home of the Highland hero, Donald MacDonell who launched the first skirmish of the Jacobite rebellion in 1745, Tirindrish House now offers comfortable selfcatering and B&B accommodation in tranquil surroundings. Located on the outskirts of Spean Bridge village, Tirindrish House has magnificent views of the Ben Nevis mountain range and Aonach Mor ski area.
We are located in 15 acres of private and secluded grounds, with a tennis court available for guests. We are excellently positioned for cyclists, walkers and climbers and we can pick up B&B guests at Spean Bridge Station. We have plenty of parking available and can provide secure garaging for bikes or motorcycles plus drying facilities for outdoor gear.
We are under 15 minutes drive from the mountain gondola on Aonach Mor. In summer the gondola provides mountain bikers with access to one of the world's most exhilarating downhill rides. In winter, it gives skiers and snowboarders quick access to the mountain's upper slopes. We are also within easy reach of beauty spots such as Glen Roy, with its ice-age parallel roads, Glen Nevis, Loch Ness, Loch Lochy and the Caledonian Canal. If you like the outdoor life, this is the perfect place for you. Wildlife abounds in the area, which is a scenic paradise for photographers. Steam train fans can ride the Jacobite special to Mallaig during the summer months and pony trekking, quadbiking and water sports are all within close reach.
There is excellent fishing in the area, Loch Lochy being particularly good.
Note: Tirindrish House & Cottages are non-smoking premises. |
